Neuropixels NXT/3.0 Probe Access Challenge (PAC)

With the generous support of BRAIN NIH U01 NS115587 (PI: Tim Harris), a new generation of Neuropixels probes—NXT during development, to be NP3.0 when available for purchase— are nearing completion. Probe testing in awake, tethered mice and rats is underway. To accelerate the dissemination of these new 1536-channel NXT/NP3.0 probes, we will share complete recording systems and probes with nine labs free of charge. We anticipate sending systems to selected labs on a rolling basis, beginning in October/November 2026 and continuing through early 2027.
